Fun ride.

Kinda glad I panicked and sold at $2.30ish. It's way cheaper now.
Unlike silver.

Sysaphus,I suspect that the stock will go lower in the next coming weeks ahead of this election, you may be able to buy much lower than current levels, who knows you may even see a permit allowing the construction. Its a good thing that Humala will fight against corruption at all levels. Both parties in contention are now promoting a windfall tax meaning Peru will trade at a discount for some time ...more

Kinda glad I panicked and sold at $2.30ish. It's way cheaper now. It's frickin' sillycheap now. I was pennyflipping it every day in November for more than this. In fact, every day in November I was buying it at this price and flipping it at $1.86-$1.90.Today's drip looked more like a short attack. I saw the last big short attack on RIO in November. This one's bigger. The panic ...more

Ya it's all good. Started buying again at $1.90 and am continuing as the price drops. Picked some more up today @ $1.76. : ]Who needs Vegas?

Well.... RIO isn't like betting on the craps table. They DO have gold, and they ARE going to pour it... eventually. The question is, I'd think, do you have the pain tolerance to hold it til the payoff? I like to think my fat load of shares at sub-$1.90 ACB will be easy to hold. But it's possible the short attack is here because someone thinks Rio won't get their permits in time (or ...more

" Pol Pot becoming president of Peru couldn't change that."But, as George Soros likes to say: "There's nothing as coward as a Million Dollars."

But, as George Soros likes to say: "There's nothing as coward as a Million Dollars."Well in this case, there's nothing as coward as a bunch of idiot Peruvian investors dumping shares in a company that's going to be pouring gold before summer.Or idiot Canadians dumping shares just because silver had fallen to $45 just in time for options expiry, dragging down the HUI to a ...more

...maybe they agree with you, I mean they also think that RIO will be pouring gold before summer..that means January 2012 for Peruvians ;) ...S-H-O-W   M-E  T-H-E   P-E-R-M-I-T !!!

Perucho,I think it's not only that. I doubt that project completion is now a major concern for most of us. The problem is that the situation in peru could change dramatically. The lefties (and now even fujimori) are discussing a new corporates tax of 50% for mining, plus windfall taxes, plus a raise in royalties. How much is there gonna be left for us shareholders after that? We have a very ...more

"The lefties (and now even fujimori) are discussing a new corporates tax of 50% for mining, plus windfall taxes, plus a raise in royalties..."This is a clear example of how animal heards behave, and the point where the human brain stop to function (if it ever does in some people!).A 50% tax for mining!!! Wouldn't that automatically bankrupt the whole minign industry in Peru ...more

Well Safi, I could not agree more with you, 50% tax for mining is nonsense, but I invite you to read today's interview with Humala's top tax advisor, Mr. Luis Alberto Arias, in the local press. My brain is working properly, the problem is their brain...

My brain is working properly, the problem is their brain... I agree blast, I meant politicians herds and brains. In all political campaigns, everywere in the world, candidates offer what their constituents want in order to get elected. But once (and if) they get elected, then the music is different., hence the dance is also different.Look at poor Evo Morales in Bolivia (can't get ...more
