Very good result

In my opinion this was a very good result. The shallower levels in the Chincontepec formation are complex and from the research I have done, Pemex and various other contractors and companies have not been able to figure it out. Latina Corp which has the Pitepec block just North of the Amititlan block (ROI has an option to acquire 50% of that block) has drilled 21 wells since 2016 in the shallower formations and has reached a production level of 1,075 Bopd, or an average of 51 Bopd per well.

Since this is the first well completed by ROI they won’t know the decline rate. We don’t know how this well was drilled, directional drilling can mean many things and fracking a well can be done in many methods. I would expect what ROI has done will not become public knowledge.

I have not been able to get information on the depth of the well, but the ten wells are to be shallow ones. At this production level there should be a payback within 8 months based on the costs they have incurred.

The big prize is supposed to be in the Upper Jurassic formation and they expect to be drilling the first exploration and production well into that zone in the first half of this year. From their website ROI indicates it will be an exploration well, but also a first, horizontal, fracked, production well with an estimated 1200 Bopd. All of these wells at both levels will be providing key information for future drilling.

Thanks Boots for your always very insightful posts I & many others enjoy reading your thoughts... to further add to your post Pemex reached peak production of this Chicontepec shallow sand formation in 2005 at 650bbl/d ROI could exceed that with the drilling of just 4 wells... speaks volumes of the team they have hired...this from the website "Discovered in 1962, and still largely ...more

You both raise good points Boots333 and Allnrg. But help me with the math here please. As at Dec 17 the Chiapas blocks were producing about 660 barrels of oil and about 1030 Boe of gas. At about an 80% royalty rate that leaves them with 20%. That leaves them 338 barrels to sell. The one new well at Amatitlan is doing 180boe mostly oil. If you extrapolate out for the ten well program they nay get ...more

Usually having a rule about replying to paid bashers but ill give it a go anyone who has been around here long enough would know your posting history 95% negative 100% of the time with claims of being long on the stock...lol you post when there is a short position with a very weak bash & viewing your posting history would lead one to question why you are so negative on all the companys you ...more

As of my posting Boots333 ROE only holds 25% of the Amatitlan block, clearly stated in my post. You are the foolish poster here. They do have 100% of the other blocks. Also clearly stated. Are you actually saying that some how out of the goodness of the JV partners hearts that they will up ROI's share of boe on wells drilled prior to ROI earning in to it. That is either foolish, stupid or ...more

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 180 b per day is for 1 well, others still being developed. 10 wells could produce approx 1800 boed, which would double ROE's output. That's sounds very promising to me, and still just the tip of the iceberg. Double production, double sp?
Comment by Onedaylate on Mar 20, 2018 11:42am
They are getting about 1,690 boe currently from the Chiapas blocks.  If all ten of the new wells turned out the same in the Amatitlan block that will gross them 1,800boe. Of which they are only entitled to 25%. So add another 450 to 1690 and you get 2,140boe. So far the news from Amatitlan has not moved the needle. For some context I bought into this stock at $0.33 years ago before they had ...more

Also long ROE. The prize is the Upper Jurassic - which as you said needs to move the needle. If it doesn’t I’m also getting out.  Per another poster, and a review of the audited annual financials, the other big prize is the contract migration expected in Q2/Q3 (per the IR deck). Once the contract migrates, they have 30 to 60 days to acquire the full 62.5%.  These two things must happen ...more

Sounds like your handle on stockhouse should have been onedayearly.  Im still trying to figure out why you complain so passionately on this board about losing 3 pennies per share over 3 years on an early speculative investment...  what did you think was going to happen?  Did you think ROE would turn into a billion dollar company overnight, pumping out tens of thousands of barrels ...more

Good points Majoritymob. No I did not expect a billion dollar company overnight. But I was hopeful. Who wouldn't be? You? I did a lot of research on this company. And all I read, lead me to believe and expect much more then we have gotten. And any investor knows that it's not just the three penny's lost. Dead money does not grow. And this has been dead money. Can you honestly say that ...more
