Secretary-General Kofi Annan (news - web sites) and Iraq's foreign minister will hold talks next month on ending the stalemate over U.N. sanctions and weapons inspections, a spokesman for the world body said Monday. The meetings will take place Feb. 26 and 27, spokesman Fred Eckhard said. He said Foreign Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf will travel to U.N. headquarters in New York for the talks with Annan and other senior U.N. officials.
