McQuibban3

McQuibban3Lake Shore Gold put down 2 drill holes, approximately 600 metres southwest of McQuibban Lake (see OGS Assessment File 20000003818/20005750). Both drill holes were drilled south, directed towards the oxide iron formation, where there is a positive magnetic anomaly. The holes were about 200 metres west of where the 'magnetite destruction' area begins along the oxide iron formation trend. Unfortunate that they didn't drill 400m to the east.
Drill Hole 1 went through 2 bands of oxide iron formation. It was the lower or southerly band that has the gold, where they intersected 5.47 g/t Au over 1.2m. DDH 2 was located to the north, in order to undercut DDH 1. However, DDH 2 didn't go deep enough in order to intersect the lower BIF zone in DDH 1. In hind sight, they should instead have drilled DDH 2 about 400m to the east of DDH 1, in order to seek the easterly continuation of the gold bearing lower BIF trend in DDH 1, where the lower magnetic intensity (magnetite destruction) begins.
The difference between the 2 BIFs in DDH 1 is that the lower band has garnets and ankerite, while the upper band does not. Both bands have low arsenopyrite.
Did the drill holes go through the Noranda HLEM conductors?? There were no EM responses on both the north and south conductors with the 440 Hz frequency (see OGS Assessment File 42H10SE0001/42H10SE0001). Only the northern conductor was intercepted with the 1760 Hz and 3520 Hz frequencies. So in my opinion, there was no southern conductor. With that said, DDH 2's collar was also located south of the northern conductor, thereby missing the only existing conductor.
