The use of the word engagement
The use of the word engagementNow I'm getting really picky here. Yesterday, the brilliant IR guy from Stream, Mike Young, used the word "engagement" in the News Release heading (Stream Signs Engagement for $50...). Then in the first paragraph of the release he uses the word "engaged" (engaged the services of WindyPoint....) which makes sense when used in that context.
Websters definition of the word engagement: 1. the act of engaging or the state of being engaged; 2. an appointment or arrangement especially to be somewhere or do something at a particular time; 3. an agreement to be married; 4. a pledge; an obligation or agreement.
When was the last time Stream used the word "agreement", that they signed an agreement, in a news release? Now with Glenn out of the picture, any shareholder who calls Stream will have the pleasure of speaking with the new Mr. IR guy. I wonder if he knows how to engage someone in a conversation?
