RE:RE:RE:THE Goverrnment loves SGL and its shareholders Of course there are many types of taxes. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. The fact remains the TFSA is the best option for holding an investment like Spyglass, which currently pays a substantial dividend, and also has a possibility of capital appreciation. Since this investment was purchased with after tax dollars, about 35% of that dollar (in my case) is all the tax I will pay on it. I could have unlimited gains, plus distributions on that dollar and not pay a cent more to the government. They do have many ways of getting their hands on our money, but this is the best option they have given us DIY investors.
