Recall that what Forced the FEDs to terminate the Income Trust Boom was the Proposed MERGER of Telus and BCE into an Income Trust !!!!
 
Thus the chances of the FEDs now allowing a SHAW/Rogers merger seem VERY LOW eh !!!

This would go AGAINST EveryThing the REGULATOR has been doing the past 2 decades
trying to Get MORE COMPETITION in Canada

Still think the deal will be a go, maybe some adjsutments but not much (Shaw is not a TV or Radio operator it's a provider ).  In the end RCI.b owns shares of SJR and it's the closing of deal that was in the air like Cogeco and RCI.b, competition is still there and the hudge investments in the network infrastructures will requier big players so in the end the deal will go on (I think) ...more

Rogers and Shaw don't compete much they split up the pie along geographic lines more than the others, except for the wire less but shaw probably is piggy backing off of Roger's towers anyways. I can't get Rogers cable where I live just telus and shaw
