RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:FoR those hoping the company will become self-sufficient3D Guy:
Is there a reason as to why you can`t approach SIO management and suggest this option?.
I have an idea of what you say,but if it`s that important and a life saver why don`t you approach them, we`ll all be very grateful.

You say:
SIO's strength is in a relatively low processing, albeit very effective, quincunx (a fancy work for checkerboard) spatial interpolation (read: fill the missing holes in the image)
They are pre-codec, meaning that the algorithm is designed to be applied to uncompressed sources.
Well, guess what uses this type of checkerboard, uncompressed sources, and would drastically benefit from fast, uncompressed but high quality interpolation?
The Bayer pattern of every. single. DSLR and modern video camera out there which is based on single chip CMOS. (millions and millions of devices each year).
So instead of stubbornly burning money in the losing proposition of 3D TV, there is a heck load of money to be done in software (better de-bayering than currently), hardware (real-time and better debayering than currently), which would drastically help the introduction of 4k, which uses large sensors that reauire real-time de-Bayering to work.
