Trooperhobo - good pointI think you are right to be wary of the timing of the release - similar to what we saw earlier this year when they announced Samsung rollout well ahead of the delivery date at a time when the sp was in a similar slide. I do think it shows that additional funding will be needed since there are additional costs related to rolling out the content and the service in non-English speaking countries that appear to be beyond the reach of their current balance sheet as Rabid has already pointed out. There are some subtle caveats built into the release namely: "The European deployment will start by the *end* of December 2015" - that means it could be as late as the 31st and may not be in all five countries - they could simply replicate their US English language offering in the UK and they would then argue that the European deployment would have technically 'started'. "3DGO! *should* be available on the 3DTVs manufactured by LG and Samsung" - I'd be more comfortable with the word 'will' instead of 'should' as it implies that they may not be on both platforms when it arrives. Presumably the addressable market of the IHS numbers is also smaller since there are 50 countries in Europe and 28 in the subset European Union, so the real question becomes how many of these 50 million TVs went into the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Also, since they indicated on the cc that 3DGo users are captured best when they buy a new TV, so the existing installed base appears somewhat moot given how they failed to capture it in the US and Canada over the past couple of years harvesting a meager 38K users from the millions of 3D TVs sold in the US by Vizio, Panasonic and LG as at the end of May. Finally there is more competition in some of these countries with sizeable brand awareness and footprint - in the UK for instance, Sky TV already has most of the 3DGo content available on their VOD service after they withdrew their dedicated SKY TV 3D channel earlier this year due to lack of demand.
