RE: RE: RE: RE: Speaking of happy The battery swap is very impressive, but it will fail as a business model. The problem is that it just serves Tesla. And it only works on a small scale. I would suppose that a gasoline station on a busy 400 series highway in Ontario or an interstate in the US serves several hundred vehicles per day. Imagine if they were all electric, even if they were all Tesla models with the same battery. You would need a giant warehouse to service the vehicles. Now, imagine that there are dozens of models with dozens of battery types. Throw in a mix of old electrics and new. This model can't upscale. It just won't work. It is at best an interim gimmick that helps until they invent a battery with twice the range or better. Having said that, I do like the Tesla. It would serve 90% of my driving. Presumably, it will get better every year. Maybe he will get my business in four years or so.
