Isn't the practice of mgmt selling options/warrants short highly illegal.
NO,
Brokerage houses or discount stock trading houses, knowingly sell all sorts of types of these out of the money, outside of the date Options and Warrents mostly. Common shares, not as much as these are at risk to the seller as share prices fluctuation and could go the wrong way in shares sold averages to new trading prices . This is a margin call.
However, If the Options in the case of SUNSET were sold out and under the market trading prices as well of the year of issue. Then that is interesting. The sale of options are taxable the second of the sale. selling options under the strike price is illegal and if the sale was used to manipulate the shares down to secure a financing. Someone gets jail time.
