Debs

Am I correctly seeing 3.3 million debs exchange hands so far this morning? Can someone confirm this?  

If so, would anyone consider that a positive thing since they rose in value.

That's an equivalent of 3.3 million face value of debs, not the actual number of debs. Debs are a fantastic low volatility (but still high risk) investment. Note the debs didn't tank all that much on the news release. It reveals a great deal abou the psychology of the two respective securities holders. There is a commission involved with buying the debs in addition to the trading fee, so ...more

There is a very slight commission - same as stocks if done thru a discount broker. Some people confuse the accrued interest as a fee but this is returned to deb holder on the interest payment date.
