True.  And given that, I think it's a good buying opportunity if one believes in the fundamental value of gold, silver and other precious metals, or metals in general.  Was it Templeton that said buy at the point of maximum pessimism?  Knowing that interest rates are being deliberately pushed down and the dollar is artificially being inflated, at some point the charade will be over and I'd rather have a decent position in gold and silver by then.  The worst place to invest right now is in American dollars and American bonds.  I suspect that both are going to crash at some point in the near future, given all this immense propping of both.  I can put so many band-aids on my would to ease bleeding, but until I deal with the underlying infection, the band aids and gauze are only holding off the inevitable - and the longer I wait, the more painful the inevitable realization will be that I need more than surface treatment. That's where I believe the U.S. economy in particular is right now and many central banks in the world (think Europe) are starting to show the negative power of debt and money printing
