I read an article about them in one of the newspapers out west and have been following them.
Do you think it makes sense to establish a position now or wait for them to raise money (they cancelled $100 million offering due to market conditions).
Management owns quite a bit and similar to SND - only agricultural stream (for a fixed time period with 70% insurance on the crop). Management has also leased or rented farmland to number of farmers through another firm.
Couple of other companies board members could consider:
1. Freehold Royalyies (Oil/Gas)
2. Alaris Royalty (Private Equity - finance private business and get topline revenue)
3. Iconix (sells licences for different brands they own to different retailers - Bought PEANUTS brand in 2010)
I have had Freehold Royalties (FRU on TSX), Alaris (AD on TSX) and Iconix (ICON on NASDAQ) for some time and have given good returns.
