I do not know if you are aware of the history of SMD but the dicided the inital company into Sandsotrm Gold and Sandstorm Metals & Energy on purpose...

I think Sandstorm Gold shareholders would not be amused to see the management spending money to cover mistakes in SMD.

And Sandstorm Gold going after base metals and energy after a merger... I think SMD is the best proof that this management team has better talents in the precious metals space than the base metals and energy part of the game...

I personally would prefer a merger with a company like Franco Nevada, Anglo Pacific or Altius than Sandstorm Gold.

But if I would be that good in predicting the future I would not post on such boards. ;-)
