"Not to belabour the point, but a mid-point or mean is the middle entry,so you need at least three entries and it can be very misleading, eg ifthe house values were 50k (unlikely I know), 250K and 900K, your mean is250K versus your average which is $400K."

Just to keep things straight here, the midpoint that you identify is the median. The mean and average are the same measurement.
