Thomas has resigned today as a Director of Stornoway and as Chairman ofStornoway's Board of Directors to pursue other interests. Ms. Thomas,one of Stornoway's founders and a noted diamond geologist, served asChief Executive Officer until December 2008 and was instrumental in theCompany's growth and exploration success. In particular, Ms. Thomasplayed a key role in the acquisition of the Renard Diamond Project, theCompany's flagship project, and provided leadership and direction to anexploration team that has been responsible for the discovery of morethan 200 kimberlites within Canada.
Monique Mercier is the Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President,Legal, with Telus Communications Inc. She has held a number of seniorpositions in the fields of securities and corporate law, human resourcesand corporate governance in the information technology, health andtelecom sectors since 1989, including with BCE Inc., Bell CanadaInternational Inc. and Emergis Inc. Amongst many industry and corporateboard appointments, Mme Mercier has served as a member of the board ofdirectors of the Societe generale de financement du Quebec (2006-2010)and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Association ofCanadian General Counsel.
John LeBoutillier is the Chairman of theboard of directors of Industrial Alliance Insurance and FinancialServices Inc., Canada's fourth largest life and health insurancecompany, and a respected senior figure in the Quebec miningindustry. Between 1983 and 1996 he served as President & CEO ofSidbec-Dosco (now ArcelorMittal Montreal Inc.), and between 1996 and2000 as President & CEO of the Iron Ore Company ofCanada. M. In 2000, he was a member of the Quebec Commission ofInquiry into Health and Social Services (the Clair Commission) and, in2001, a member of the Canadian Democracy and Corporate AccountabilityCommission (the Bennett/Broadbent Commission). M. LeBoutillier served asa member of the board of directors of the Societe generale definancement du Quebec between 1996 and 2010, and is a recipient of theOrder of Canada.
