It's interesting that many of Kaiser's predictions have played out (although not exactly as predicted) and his criticisms of Stornoway remain relevant, even today. Stornoway could have been a powerhouse, but the allure of Renard (even with its marginal economics) and the legacy opportunity offered by getting into bed with the Quebec government was too much for our leaders to ignore. Well, we can see the fallout from that today. What's happened with Stornoway is the antithesis of a value creation exercise. It's been all about building a diamond mine in Quebec for years.
