There are very few stocks like UUU which allow you to take big postions without moving the price of the stock that also have volatility. Some big day traders take huge positions both long and short in a stock that has big swings. Their only knowledge is that things tend to trend so they wait until a technical trend is established and then extinguish the loosing position and ride the winning position. If a stock is going up and you cover your shorts it goes up even more. If it is going down and you sell your longs it helps continue the trend. They also frequent BB such as this one to hype or dis a stock to help keep the trend going. Commisions are so small that if the stock does not move much either way they do not loose any money.
