RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: China’s nuclear freezeDrooper, not to centre you out, but there was a rather large oil spill up in Alaska that oiled Prince William Sound. Much of that damage remains to this day. That is legend's point.
But while we are looking at this thread, the notion that "japanese radioactivity...affects everybody everywhere, no exception and will continue to affect everybody everywhere for years to come..." is simply not true. It is a matter of fact that the farther you are from the source of the radiation, the less exposure you will receive. If this really is a global threat, why has the threat of radiation here on Canada's west coast been made such a laughing stock of?
Yes, radiation has been detected here. And yes, it is the result of Fukushima. But when I weigh that against the fact that when I crawl into bed beside my wife in a couple of minutes and I will be exposed to even higher levels of radiation (due to carbon-14 decay in her body), well, I just don't feel that threatened.
And compared to oil, radioactivity is lethal? Well, let's just leave it at this--I'll go see my dentist and have an x-ray and you go drink a litre of oil and we'll see who comes out better.
Keep us posted...
