Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BRCD), $7.67 +0.30, 4.07%,traded all day close to it high of 7.745 but it did manage to touchdown at a low of 7.26. Brocade is in the business of providing a lineof storage networking products and services and operating a SANmanagement operating system. Last month the company reported that theRoyal College of Physicians of London has upgraded its network tounderpin the implementation of advanced IP-based unified communicationsapplications. This enhancement is based on Brocade’s FastIron SX 800series 10 Gigabit Ethernet backbone switches and 1 GbE FastIron GSPoE(1) edge switches.
NovaGold Resources Inc. (AMEX: NG),$5.70, +0.25, 4.59%, is a precious metals company engaged in theexploration and development of mineral properties in Canada. Earlierthis week NovaGold filed a new preliminary prospectus allowing them tomake offerings of debt securities, preferred shares, common shares andwarrants up to an initial offering price of US$500,000,000 during theperiod that the prospectus remains effective. NG saw gains of up to$5.79 when it reached its high of the day, with a low of 5.45 on 2.7million shared traded.
Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX: K),$20.83, +0.48, 2.36%, traded at its highest volume in 4 days. Kinrossstayed steady during the day trading between its high of 21.02 and theday’s low of 20.34. In mid November Kinross reported that a subsidiaryof Teryl Resources Corp. received a letter of intent for theacquisition of its interest in the Gil Joint Venture Gold Property inAlaska, from its Joint Venture Partner, Fairbanks Gold Mining Inc.,which is also a subsidiary of Kinross Gold. Kinross is mainly engagedin the exploration, acquisition, development and operation ofgold-bearing properties.
Imaging3 Inc. (OTCBB: IMGG), $1.22,+0.02, 1.67%, made slight gains of over 1% on lower than usual volumeof 1.7 million. The company is involved in production and sale ofmedical equipment, parts and services to hospitals, surgery centers,research labs, physician offices and veterinarians. Imaging3 announcedthat its shareholder meeting has yet to receive approval from the SEC,and as a result has been postponed for next year. The company’s CEO,Dean James, held a conference call today to update interested partiesof the company's recent success at the Radiological Society of NorthAmerica (RSNA) annual Conference and Trade Show.
AllanaResources Inc. (TSXV: AAA),
.325, +0.06, 22.64%, is mainly focused onexploration and development of previously explored Dallol potashproperty in the Danakhil Depression, Ethiopia. Allana made gains ofover 22%. AAA closed near its high of 0.335. Earlier this month thecompany announced that it has awarded a drilling contract to EmersonMoore Drilling Ltd. for its Ethiopian Potash Project. Emerson hassignificant experience and has completed drilling projects worldwide.
