For the sake of the people involved, I hope it was an honest mistake. Even the futures markets would have a hard time going for this kind of volatility (even though we all know it would actually be ignored there; thank you very much, Morgan Stanley).

But considering the flack that came out of Taseko Mines (https://www.tasekomines.com/tko/NewsReleases.asp?ReportID=439226&_Type=News-Releases&_Title=Taseko-Mines-Provided-Clarification-On-Recent-Class-Action-News-Articles) trading in October last year, I can't imagine anyone would be stupid enough to expose themselves by ramming the market down on no news.
