"The country is dependent on foreign suppliers for 89% of its potash consumption. Any company that can successfully develop a potash project in Brazil is likely to benefit from significant freight advantages."

How about potash companies that can capitalize on China (pop. 1.3 BILLION)  and India (pop. 1.2 BILLION)  rather than little old Brazil (pop. 190 million).  I don't think freight is that big a deal when comparing 2.5 billion mouths to feed rather than 190 million
