Another consideration - at the last AGM, it was said that BHP would only be interested in Dallol IF the basin could produce 5mty in order to be cost effective.

BHP did a cursory review & believed the cost (on its own), as well as its chase for the Jansen project, would have a detrimental effect on its financial statements.

We all know that, in time, the Dallol basin will generate sufficient product to be profitable. I believe BHP is watching the developments of Allana, Yara, South Boulder (although in Eritrea) & others - waiting for the right time to 'pounce' with their substantial cash reserves.
