Interesting line from the WSJ
Interesting line from the WSJ ========
It is unclear how far potash prices will fall now that one big marketing partnership has dissolved, although Uralkali announced Tuesday a solo contract to sell to a Chinese buyer at an undisclosed price that likely was lower than $400. It is possible that Uralkali’s move is a tactic designed to push Belarus back into the fold. Moreover, a reduction in long-term price assumptions for the commodity should act to reduce the growth in excess capacity by forcing a rethink on going ahead with big development projects such as BHP Billiton’s Jansen mine in Canada. Lower prices should also spur demand.
