RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:WiggyTotally agree with you on next weeks flights . Average 350 one way as you love pointing out.
Now let's look at another snapshot. Rouge stops London/Gatwick on October 16. Along with other summer destinations there or about. Summer holidays and back to school has now taken effect.
These 767s ( rouge ) will slowly start being rotated into the southern routes till next summer when they restart the euro runs.
My contacts at AC ( Pilots , who are average 20 year at AC ) tell me loads have been great on the euro rouge program. Margins are at least in line with mainline . Some like Warsaw ,have been doing unbelievably well . The euro summer has made money. We shall see how much Nov 7.
I was also looking at tonight's and tomorrow nights mainline runs out of Toronto. Flights like London/heathrow , Paris , Frankfurt , Copenhagen , Zurich ,Amsterdam , are 95 % sold out. Business and premium economy average fares ( one way ,as you love to point out ) are 93% sold out at average fares of 2600 and 5500 !!! . TheLondon run is a 400 seat 777. 40 of those seats are business class. Sold out. Average fare 5100. All summer long ,the same fare. That's 200 K in revenue tonight and tomorrow night!!! Then add 300 plus pax in the back. And not including a pile paying premium economy. And don't forget to add belly cargo. All gravy .
Flights on business along with premium Econ are seldom discounted in the summer.
The low cost carriers like Wow , Condor , Transat , and yes even westjet to Europe don't have the high end lie flats that biz types pay big money for. They are the ones that HAVE to sell every seat at whatever the competition is asking.
Mainline in this regard has killed it all summer long.
This will be a profitable Q3. Whether you like it or not. All in line with what management has planned till ( hopefully ) 2018. So far , so good.
