RE:Science, Data, Health, Wealth .. Connections? Beyond FEAR

RE:Science, Data, Health, Wealth .. Connections? Beyond FEARGreat post OTB OnTheBalance not off track betting lol. Great research and take on things, I have personally found it ridiculously entertaining everytime I've heard "2nd wave" lol. Listening to them spout off about this "2nd wave" since the beginning and then the general public brainwashed into thinking, quoting and believing that they were right, as you said if you want to call it waves theres at least been 3 or 4. The "great" dr tam told us all back in February masks arent necessary when travelling abroad, now they are critical life saving devices in fact wear one during sex with new partners?? Bahahaha too much!! One thing I've learned throughout all this even if you didnt trust the government and media before, did anyone believe they were capable of this? I have a couple friends who are police officers and they have both told me, the police dont want anything to do with upholding these insane new fake laws, they arent even sure how to respond to them. Crazy times and everyone has opinions and many are far different from each other but they are all interesting and I think the key to sanity is just keeping an open mind. Cheers! quote=OnTheBalance]
Thank you Ib1 and Shirtlessnomore (great handle, btw) for your well thought out responses. Ib1, totally concur that every death brings sadness to family and friends, and even if they are elderly, deep within us, we wish they could live forever. Though, I personally have no desire to live forever (just living strong to my last day will be sufficient), have certainly wished that my grandparents or parents would live or would have lived forever. Shirtless, your point on pneumonia is critical, because ultimately that is a pathway that many humans exit this life on. Flus and influenzas lead people in this direction. Current life expectancy in Canada - 84.7 Women, 81.2 Men. It has steadily increased, in a gradual linear fashion for over 70 years as result of a combination of many reasons, some very positive, others not so. Annual influenza/flu shots (to the public and to health care workers) have greatly helped in pushing out the year of death for many elderly but fragile folks. Unfortunately, the over-dependence on readily prescribed pharmaceuticals has disguised many bad habits in our societies including gluttony/obesity, lack of exercise, poor food choices, chronic vitamin deficiencies etc. Current average age of Covid death in Canada is still hovering around age 84.

It was noted by epidemiologists in both Northern Italy, and in Sweden, that for several years they had unusually mild flu/influenza seasons (and much fewer related pneumonia deaths) which had resulted in a much larger population of very frail aged people, with several body systems approaching failure. Draw your own conclusions. Whenever, a very aged person dies, there is sadness, but the ultimate cause of death is not a ‘singular’ cause. When Covid has been present in their body tissues, the death has been attributed to a single cause. Again, draw your own conclusions. About 50 years ago, a generic term for old age deaths used to be “heart failure”, even if the underlying causes were variable.

As a hard working, and actively contributing member of society, and as an investor, my interest has been in learning about this disease from many sources, and assessing the reputation and sensibilities of the information, independently, as opposed to relying on the daily rant of politicians, and the so called public health experts who are now addicted to seeing their own faces on television 24/7.. their mouths moving endlessly spouting nothing. Also the narrative on media such as NYT, CBC, etc etc has just turned into a ‘technique’ to get more eyeball clicks, nothing else. One is not even permitted to post a comment on their websites citing newly published scientific papers that challenges their agenda.

So here are some data points..

During the 1918 pandemic, out of a global population of 1,800 million, over 50 million died, so the overall death rate was 2,778 persons for every 100,000. And most who died were between the ages of 20 and 40. Of course, life expectancies were much lower in those days. From National Geographic (September 2020) stats on the first 6 months (24 weeks) of that pandemic (data available for the 36 largest cities in the USA), death rates (per every 100,000 population) came in at 807 in Philadelphia, 710 Boston, 672 San Francisco, Washington DC 608, LA 494, NYC 452, Seattle 414, … the lowest was Minneapolis at 267. Compare this to 2020 Covid-19.. Global death rate, per 100,000 stands at 14.2 . No doubt, developing and poorer countries have probably not tracked the Covid deaths precisely. But note that their populations are much younger, and their old are not kept alive on pharmacare for ever. What about the death rate in Western countries, from Covid? Canada is at 25.6 per 100,000 population, Sweden at 58.6, USA at 65.9. And you can bet that the Western Covid death rate is inflated, because the mere presence of Covid results in a death being classified as such, even if the person had other organ systems that were already run down, pre Covid. If this were happening 30 years ago, we might not have picked up that Covid was here.

So why is it that respected scientists such as Dr. Ioannidis from Stanford are being derided?  He is the one who blew the whistle last March on the “Evidence Fiasco of the Century”. At that time he estimated that the real global Covid infections were 54x higher than reported. Yes 54x higher. Now WHO comes around and says that globally at least 780 million have already had the infection. I bet the real numbers are way way higher.. possibly closing in on 1500 million to 2000 million. YES, these numbers matter, because it has a significant impact on assessing IFR. Infection Fatality Rate, not CFR or Case Fatality Rate.

https://thehealthcareblog.com/blog/2020/07/09/a-conversation-with-john-ioannidis/

England has already updated its IFR down to the 0.30% to 0.49%. This article presents data from two models estimating daily infections in England, deriving recent IFRs estimates of 0.30% using the MRC unit’s data and 0.49% using ONS data. https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/estimating-the-infection-fatality-ratio-in-england/

This will repeat around the world and ultimately, it will be proven to be in the 0.2% range.. give it some time.

And do we really think that 34,000 rational doctors, health experts, epidemiologists just all got overtaken by radical thinking and signed the Great Barrington Declaration? They have come to the conclusion, that current approach to Covid will result in far greater harm and far greater deaths due to other reasons, if the hype being perpetuated by politicians, local public health nazis, drama queen Prime Ministers etc is not checked.

We are also finding out now that China already had plenty of Covid-19 like cases in September 2019.. and sat on this data. So it is not surprising that we already had Covid amongst us by November last year. Anecdotal, but many people in offices in Canadian cities had these symptoms last December onwards. So the fools who keep talking about second wave need an education. Ultimately, there are no waves, just series of peaks and troughs, but if you want to call them waves, we are probably on the fourth one by now.

The real disaster has been in our shoddy care centers for elderly people. For over 10 years, we have run centres where people are NOT CARED FOR. Not bathed, not given a hot meal, just kept alive on medications. The workers were not allowed to use supplies by greedy owners to take care of the clients. Where were the health inspectors? Probably being boozed up by owners of these centres, at local strip joints. Covid comes around… now all the politicians have found religion… government will take over the private care centres? Where the fuxx were they for last decade? Criminal charges should be laid against these public health officials who were bribed to look away. THEY KILLED YOUR LOVED ONES, not Covid. Fuxxers. The public is so stupid. The healthcare workers in these centres were terrified of their greedy bosses.

Finally, if you care about your families and yourselves, please have a look at these two links. Basic Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, and Magnesium can make a difference in your well being. I have nothing to gain here, but for years have been a strong champion for people’s well being, physical, mental, financial. Best tools in life are sometimes the least expensive ones, like exercise, rest, good nutrition, but it takes independent thinking and effort.

So what does this all have to do with Air Canada? At times like this, personally staying healthy, wading through piles of information, and making good long term decisions (health and investments) will serve us and our families the best. LIVING BEYOND FEAR THINKING. Great Health, and Wealth to Everyone.. Congratulations if you actually read to the end!

Ps: I usually post on Stocktwits these days, as this board was so over run by … you know what!. I invest in businesses for very long term gains. My simple and stupid rule. Been doing it through all the ups and downs of many cycles. Cheers[/quote]
