Guidance covers variability

DJ Air Canada's Wide Guidance Range Covers Variability in 2024 -- Market Talk

0905 ET - Air Canada's wider guidance ranges aim to cover the challenges that the industry faces in 2024. In a call to investors, executives say Air Canada will face variable costs and performance changes across different quarters and that the ranges cover that spectrum. The airline is also keeping the wider range to make up for any potential competitive pressures. Air Canada set its ASM capacity at 6%-8%, with adjusted Ebitda in the range of C$3.7 billion to C$4.2 billion. Adjusted CASM, its cost metric, ranges between 2.5%-4.5%. "We've been battling different adversity, and wanted to make sure we had a clear line of sight," the executives say. "Nothing one-time we're grappling with."

Adjusted EBITDA was $521MM, up from $389MM the year prior, versus our estimate of $527MM (consensus $558MM),  Adjusted EBITDA 521 vs 558 consensus thats a bit light, but stock holding up in crappy tape (back to 3 days ago), once we get over this next rate worry (it took 1 day last time), look for 20+$
