Christmas on steroids
Ms Kirk;
The upcoming Agrium results which will be released on August 05 after hours is a serious moment. Many business enterprises (clothing, ski equipment, electronics, toys, games) have a Christmas selling season typically described as October November and December in the western world.
For Agrium the "Christmas season" is April May and June". They enjoy about 45% of total revenue during this period and by deductive reasoning the other 3 quarters only capture 18% of business on average. Perhaps 70% of annual profits are realized during this important quarter. Within legal limits companies such as Agrium create reserves and do fancy accounting to try to reduce profit during this quarter so as to spread a little wealth into the other periods but until I see evidence to the contrary I am using 70% as the Q2 share of profits. So, it is a humungous Quarter.
The released results can cause a major jolt to the share price; up or down.
I am rather optimistic since some Q1 shipments were delayed.
Agrium. As good as it gets in 2015. I wish I joined the club 10 years ago but it is never too late
