I've switched my spending over to a travel cash card.  I can redeem my point for cash to apply against any travel paid for on my CC (about 1.25% cash back on total spend).  And as for my Aeroplan points???  Looking at cashing in for 2 business ticket to Asia. It will cost around 250k to 300k in points if I can find the flight.  Those flights are worth around $30k combined.......that was why I had the CC.  No reason to anymore....

Having said all that, Im out east so no safeways but I think they are tied to AirMiles NA.

You truelly are cluless...

A TD card will give you 1.5 pts/dollar. A 50$ Gift card costs 6500pts. So the math 1.15 and that is straight up from the credit card.

Add the fact that you acumulate with partners on the Aeroplan card. In fact they will even let you double dip including the many eStore retailers. You will get a much better return than you stupid 1.25%.

Gas at Esso: premium gas will give you 4.5pt/$ spent. 6500 = $50. That's a 3.5% return.
