Share buyback

Would like to see a share buyback soon if the market keeps ignoring precious metals miners.
Comment by Shadow10 on Jan 22, 2024 11:31pm
Why would you want to do that ? Ascot share price will be rising soon

The only way there will be a share buyback is in the future when they have some cashflow. The following is an email I got this morning from a friend in Alberta. Back in 2018 I was at a talk in Calgary put on by Ascot with Derek giving the Dog-and-Pony show. At the time there was something like 160,000,000 shares outstanding. Someone asked Derek how much more dilusionwe would have and the answer ...more

Not only that...Mr.DARK gives Sprott for his USD 30mio. the deal to pay for that about 65000 ounces  gold till 2026, means 130 mio.USD at present gold level! The gimmick, if gold would drop to 1250, what could be possible, he still earns 50 mio.! And do not forget, this trouble started with the negligence of the old contract we had with Sir Sprott! And you might still remember our mine should ...more

You said it.People who were in Ascot in since 2007 are choked, i get it. I think most of the investers see greed and keep hanging on till its to late. I have done that and i am still holding onto one's i should have sold before it goes down too far. The only one you have to blame is ourselves. Ascot is not the same company it used to be and there's no proof that if Derek White did not come ...more

It's difficult to say how this will go. I don't think Derek is fos. My reason for that is that I think I know what is there in terms of gold, grades and cost. Derek can pull his butt out of the fire with some great cash flow. He has always been conservative about grades and mine life. I bought 200K shares this morning and will be looking to buy more in the next day or two. Dilution sucks ...more

I agree with you Shadow. From what I have learned from being a shareholder here for nearly 30 years is that mine "building" is a slow process. Our geographical area is rich but rugged. I assume that despite the hype around Pretium and all the "over promise and under delivering", you were still profitable. If you weren't, that was really poorly executed by you. What gives me ...more

I talked to David Stewart about ccori apu trying to buy us out and he said it would be hard as thay have two people on the board and they would not be able to vote. Hope he's right. Yah i made about 80 -82 thousand on Pretium,i was hoping that they wouldn't get bought out as i thought the share price would have climbed more on their own. I'm in ascot for a long time ( i hope ) and i ...more

Hey Shadow10: I must say you are a good dreamer. Nothing wrong with that. With this stock that was supposed to be producing 2 years ago nothing will surprise me on the negative side going forward. There are dreams and then there is reality. I did not bother to check exactly what the total of the Outstanding and Fully Diluted Share Balance is however I would guess over 650MM shares. If gold stays ...more

I"m going too, i want to get every penny i paid into my Canada Pension plan and then more.  I will be costing the government money ,  i'm going to piss on my enemy's grave.

Wildhorse, skeena is not even double Ascots market cap. To say 13x share price is silly. We could do a reverse split of 10 for 1 and have a share price over $4/share too. You cannot compare 2 companies using price per share. Market cap is how you compare. Speaking of a rollback I think it needs to happen. Way to many shares out.

Agree, roll back ten to one after commercial production. Don't do 15 to 1 like victoria gold. Makes my head hurt trying to compare to previous price targets.

Agree, consolidate shares ten to one after commercial production. Don't do 15 to 1 like victoria gold. Makes my head hurt trying to compare to previous price targets and risk/reward. Me like simple math.

It doesn't matter to you what anyone says, you read what you want to see. I didn't "compare the companies", I compared the hype. SKE is trading at over $5.50/sh and AOT is .45 .  For exactly the reasons that you grandstanded on, you proved my point. I also said that it may be a good thing because people still don't seem to see the potential of AOT. But thanks again for ...more

You just compared their share price again....lmfao. the comparison is irrelevant and not based in math. For someone who's made millions and been in the market so long I'm shocked you don't understand something so basic.
Comment by calmandquiet on Jan 23, 2024 2:51pm
that's exactly why. because presumably the share price will be higher once the company has annual statements showing cash flow and hopefully profit. the same amount of cash will buy back more shares sooner than later. the company is essentially debt free. so the question becomes, assuming it can start turning a profit reasonably soon, what to do with the earnings?  imagine gold gains 10 ...more

Personally, I am devouthly opposed to ANY buyouts from or including ccori apu. That deal would be 100% about slaughtering shareholders.
Comment by Shadow10 on Jan 23, 2024 11:27pm
Wildhorse65 I agree with you on the no buyout
Comment by calmandquiet on Jan 26, 2024 7:12pm
And another reason why buyback is superior to dividend, while the share price is still low...  because who buys gold stocks for income lol. We are here for leverage to the gold price. Start the dividend once the share price is at nav. something i would be interested to see would be some kind of commitment by the company to sell their production to the shanghai gold exchange, or if their ...more
