It means that repair work is underway.
I am expecting a divi cut to the tune of 30-40% and some asset sales.

1) It was not the opening line in the CEO's letter. 2) You excluded the very next sentence, taking the CEO's position on the dividend out of context. "Our dividend is an important component of our total shareholder return. We strive to provide a strong and sustainable dividend to our shareholders."  In my view, this is preparatoy language for a dividend cut. Otherwise

683. I totally agree with you. First sentence was quoted only to support my argument of 25 to 30% cut. I also expect sale of some assets.

I  think   in the short  term  it  depends  on  how successful they are  selling  assets   . (not at fire sale prices)     re   potential  dividend cut   or   not
