Not sure what your point is Mr. Sheep. You are just confirming what I have been saying, I have been buying big since the selloff and will continue to do so with a plan to hold long term! I am long! What are you doing? Are you actually short here, and do you think that is a good position to be in right now? You must be nervous to be going through my posts? lol. This is not my first rodeo, have done ...more

Buy low...sell high.... Nobody knows where the bottom is.  One thing for sure, this company is worth a hell of a lot more than its current price.  Will it go lower...maybe.... So where are the risks for a long term investor..... Bad management...possible Borrowing money... unnecessary at this time No more gold....after another 15 years are there more?

Funx---most glaring negative is the significant hedge, not a few ounces but many for months and months ahead --just too hard for the big guys to digest knowing that POG gong up doesn't mean much to AR; so AR has become the victim of the trading universe which universe is a horse of a different color these days to say the least.  But as some have said, if AR can sell the Mexican stuff at ...more

A hedged gold price ensures weathering the storm of a gold price moving down. So not really a negative, just means that if gold goes up, Ar will languish for a while. So the discussion is really a debate between patience and impatience....

The Hedge is only on Mangino is it not?
Comment by SHEEPBAAA1 on Nov 13, 2023 12:12pm
yeah 2 years is not a long time? "Finally, it's important to note that if one is bullish on gold which I imagine is the case for most investors reading this as they are looking for leverage to the metal using producers, Argonaut does not provide the same leverage that many expected 18 months ago when they invested for Magino's eventual first gold pour. This is because the company has ...more

I know I'm being lazy, but when we talk about the percentage hedged, is it a weight in grams or sliding value? i.e. if they discover more gold and increase production, is the increased gold also subject to the hedge as well? Or is based on an agreed number of grams / tonnage throughput per year? cheers

There is a bit of truth in your fear,,, but  really  if you are not in it for the long term   fine...   but at this particular level   seems to be a decent bet.     If the stock price was much higher  your thesis would make a bit more sense..     Me personally will wait  until they produce  and it does not take ...more

RE: the hedges. Only 25000 oz hedged per quarter as a requirement by the lenders for financing to build Magino so if gold price goes down we can still pay the debt! To put it in perspective, AR is guiding for 80 000 ozs in the fourth quarter! That leaves approx. 70% of production unhedged! Plenty of room to make cash if gold goes up and insurance to weather the storm if it goes down! Not a problem ...more

Thanks CT. Just as I suspected.  Management is doing a good job of protecting and building. There must be something that we don't know that is keeping this down.  It cannot be the hedge based on the information. So what is it!!!!!

Hi funex. There was the 20 day shutdown, but other than that and being the victim of a massive short attack hopefully nothing! If FNV just gave us another $30 million a few days ago they must think everythings going great! Just my opinion.
Comment by franco62 on Nov 13, 2023 8:12pm
Maybe institutions are predicting that AR will need some more cash and they push the price low to be able to buy it and then sell it when appropriate...
Comment by crazytimes on Nov 13, 2023 8:19pm
AR had about $70 mill cash before the $30 mill from FNV a few days ago. That makes about $100 million in cash plus I think another $20 mill of draw capacity with Magino fully built and paid for. Add current cashflow from the running mines one would think they are pretty cashed up right now! Just my opinion.
