RE:told you-using shares to buy goldx was worse move

RE:told you-using shares to buy goldx was worse movei was against the acquisition at that premium too, but there is no use crying over spilled milk. i did not receive voting material in the mail so did not get a chance to vote no. it would not have mattered when there was 99% yes vote.
instead of crying over spilled milk, all an investor can do is look at the current situation and direction of company, and decide whether to continue being a shareholder or not. even with the dilution, without a doubt, gcm is still crazy undervalued. the merger adds several positive things to the company that institutions would like: multiple country, multiple mine production, larger market cap, higher production, very long mine life, large exploration potential. more institutional interest counters the naked shorts that people cry about.

i remember when the crocodile gold shareholders were all crying about the 20% dilution when newmarket gold took them over. people who sold because they were angry about the dilution would have missed out on multi bagger gains and the buyout by kirkland lake. that loss from dilution had a gain of great new management that was much better at marketing to increase the share price, and accelerated drilling to find new bonanza grade. i remember people crying about naked shorts holding the share price down too back then.

moral of the story is that being too obsessed with dilution misses out on the positives that it brings.

to the person worried about seizure of assets, president ivan duque leads a right wing party that wants to stomp out leftist rebels. there is no talk of seizure at all. all he did was propose a new tax plan to pay for social program during covid and some changes to the health care system. not leftist at all, and nothing like peru. and guyana is nothing like peru either.
