A lot of negative opinions just show people's fear about the future. Maybe investing is not for you?
Bringing all the time the not so succesful past of the company is not an indicator for what the future will be. On the other hand, extremely hopeful and rich expectations that this share will go up to 10$ again are not directly connected to the reality considering how many shares are out. 
Emotions are bad advisor in this game. 
We need positive news from Don soon and more that one. If the Canadian government finally steps in and help companies like Avalon that might be the triggering event we are waitng for.
