RE:RE:AVO press release
T64.    Market would shrug it off.  Unless they know what they are talking about (in the security industry) it’s Chinese to them.  I have not seen this new offering and cannot speak to its efficacy etc.  Facial, vehicle recognition has been available commercially for well over a decade. All that has been occurring is the refinement in results.
Last years ASIS show had some very impressive facial recognition software and other video management companies had it, as did Panasonic.  I asked around and although AVO was offered it, they were not promoting it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They were pushing their in my opinion, inferior software.  They were missing out on some fantastic tools to build into their offerings.  Very strange approach.  So if I was shopping for a client looking for fantastic analytics, I would direct them to the competition! .

So as I have not seen how great this AVO software is, I cannot speak to anyone being afraid of it.  Unless it is far superior to what others had last year, I would not be afraid!
Remember, these other forms sell to the milestones, genetic etc etc etc  So their software gets built into a far bigger market than what AVO can generate on their own.

Now, IFFFFFFF, Avo software is drop dead ahead of the pack, then it may hurt a bit.  But also remember the AXIS, Panasonic, Pelco, Areconts of the world are all playing nice with card access companies and the milestones, Salients, genetecs etc

So lets hope it is drop dead far ahead of the comp. if not it’s a nice to have but no true advantage for AVO, as others have great stuff as well.
AVO needs to stand out, just like they did when they introduced the 3 & 5 mega pixel cameras.   THAT the ONLY thing they had going for them and now others have caught up.   To be sure the analytics is very important to everyone.  Now it is a matter of getting the direct sales and trying to partner up with the big card access firms.  ( my opinion)
