RE:RE:RE:RE:Preffered shares I DZ, I was being sarcastic. I share every buy with you guys in real-time. 9.5k shares @ 8.90. Same boat as you. Similar entry thesis re timing the new NCIB at a depressed valuation. We pulled back the layers here together including the disaster that is Cominar/Iris.
Hope you read my last post which rationalizes why the management rolled the prefs and the fact the J will currently cost the trust 7%, lower than the yield documented in the PR of 8.3%. Makes me feel better knowing we are buying back our debt at a discount and therefore that is why we did not repurchase it at par. Correct me if I'm wrong.
and I would never take a victory lap at the expense of others. Sorry for the confusion. I try to remain humble in defeat and in victory. This so far has been a defeat when measured by paper losses, but a victory in terms of opportunity to buy a quality, misunderstood asset for a very attractive valuation.
cheers, all the best.
DZtrader wrote: Haa, had a good little chuckle. I truly didn't think you were as long the stock as you suggested, but if I am being honest didn't really think you were short either. Not sure why you wouldn't have come out and said you were short, not sure many would care. Even more doubtful a place like this forum moves the needle in the slightest. As for getting rich on 10k shares, ummmmm ok, guess maybe peoples interpretation of rich vastly varies. As for my "busted trade" not even sure what to say dude, I own a whole 4000 shares as pure spec/risk trade that looked like it set up alright, until dim witts decided not to utilize NCIB and on and on. I sold my entire holdings last run up to early mid 13's and did ok, decided to throw a few dollars back in at very low 9's given what looked like a good set up for short term trade. Had my finger on the sell for chump change when I had second thoughts but didn't pull the trigger, but posted that too, my bad. Having said all that, not a major deal, nor busted trade. As much as I don't care for this group they will muddle through, get some sales done, pay down some debt and the stock will go higher. I always have been very transparant and it is far and away the smallest position I hold. If they mess up debt re-fi totally, well small tax loss, not a major deal. The one comment I would make (and I'm guessing you are still fairly young) as smart as you seem, not sure it suites you to pat yourself on the back as you have, shows some immaturity, or as "the mooch" so elequantly put it "suck your own (fill in the blank)..................but that cost him his White House gig. Anyways, cheers dude, nice chatting to you anyways, and good luck on your short!
