Since this past Monday, I’ve had the pleasure of owning BlackBerry’s most delicious device yet, the Passport. I’ve taken to it quite well and certainly have a hard time putting it down……there’s just one problem.. everyone around me always wants to hold it! I live in New England and here its quite a bit Ios land, everywhere I go folks express the ultimate in conformity each time they display their iPhones…it seems at times to be the dress code here….. a funny thing happens however when I pull out the Passport!….jaws drop, and everyone wants to know what it is!
I am rather uncomfortable in public places these days however business sometimes requires me to leave my estate. Normally,folks gathering around me in groups would trigger a knee jerk reaction on my part with a pepper spray response (never actually pepper sprayed anyone…yet) …. i don’t like it however my deep rooted passion for BlackBerry has me showing this device like a professional BlackBerry sales rep!. I can not seem to walk anywhere without someone pulling me to the side.. asking what I’m holding and who makes it. Reactions to my response “It’s a BlackBerry Passport” often elicits surprise and raised eyebrows. “BlackBerry is still around?” they ask….. “You Bet! And their doing fantastic!” I reply. I don’t have to convince anyone…. they see the Passport…. it’s shockingly innovative design and sheer delightful elegance….. impressed whether they admit it or not…. the tell?…. as they glance down at their boring slab of same old glass.
So what am I trying to say?…..simply that advertising BlackBerry in the United states takes no effort if you own a BlackBerry Passport!.. these reactions that I’ve been seeing first hand and daily… I have not seen since the early days of BlackBerry before it became a consumer staple launching the company to its highest point way back when. The BlackBerry Passport is a revolution in mobile computing and it’s controversial, radical, different from everything else….. it causes folks to stop and look twice as if a beautiful person had just walked by….. yes at times I think it’s me……thing is their lookin at the beauty in ma hand and not ma super cute self.
Wow factor….. yep this device has it! But it has the specs and power to back it up too! When I say it’s a BlackBerry people’s expressions are priceless….. they look momentarily dumbfounded…. like OMG how did I miss this?…how I not know BlackBerry is back!?. Granted, just one encounter Is probably not enough for an iphone drone to switch on the spot….. but it certainly goes miles in changing public perceptions of BlackBerry and that folks is the key to unlocking the consumer market once again. The more people that react to the visual superiority of the Passport the more they begin to wonder what their missing. Fact is iphone is in trouble as is Samsung and others….. the age of same is taking its toll…. mobile is getting lame…. and people are ready for the next level of mobile revolutionary change. Passport is already there.
I tell folks that BlackBerry is now leaner, meaner and totally focused on Business while still catering to it’s rabidly enthusiastic consumer devotees. I tell them BlackBerry dosn’t need the consumer market but will still sell you a phone…..tell me you can’t have it and they automatically want it! As an informed BlackBerry Jedi, I am able to present all the increadible capabilities of BB10, the Passport and all the Delicious devices of this awesome platform….. educating those who may want to break free from the cult of conformity. Today, in America…. in the United States there is a mobile repression coming to light….. how easy we fell into a rut here….. but for a few of us…. the proud bearers of The BlackBerry banner we saw it all along. Today is the day to begin the fight for liberation!
Passport is a powerful tool for both the Professional and social hyper connected. It is also the most powerful weapon we BlackBerry faithful have available here in the United states. Passport may not be for everyone…. but it seems to prove a point….. what the US has clung to…. the iPhone same….is boring, stale and without real innovation. BlackBerry offers a full range of mobile devices…. from slab of glass to Physical keyboard.. the latter of which in itself is different. Soon the BlackBerry Classic will launch…. it’s expected availability and familiarity to the drones that betrayed it’s ancestors will be key. Larger screen, modern UI and OS ….it has the potential to reignite a love affair that somehow faded years ago. Passport is the spear that will peirce the armor of the oppressive mobile elite here and open the flood gates of freedom. BlackBerry has much in store for the world with truly innovative designs on the way….and what may begin as a small rebellion can and should lead to full scale revolution!
We the faithful BlackBerry Marines, stationed though out the US must heed the call to arms and show our Passports to all so that we may awaken the slumbering mobile market in America. Evangelize the brand and with Passport the effort will be minimal…. the shocking beauty of it has the power to force all who see it to question their choices in mobile. When folks begin to realise they’ve been bamboozled….. beautiful things will happen for our favorite brand.
