The geologists are learning about Mars internal structure:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-9815443/NASA-data-reveals-details-core-mantle-crust-Mars.html?ito=push-notification&ci=7PzC-XxTQ0&si=14556679&ai=9815443
NASA estimates the size of the Red Planet's core, mantle and crust for the first time by analysing 'marsquakes'
- Scientists used data from the NASA InSight robot to study the inside of Mars
- They used information on 'marsquakes' to measure distances to each layer
- They found evidence of three layers of crust stretching down about 41 miles
- Under this is a 500 mile deep mantle and a 1,140 mile radius liquid metal core
