My thoughts on split and chenI think it's a good idea to split BUT they need to change the name Blackberry like 5 years ago when they turned to software. Go talk to 10 random people and CTO and ask them what is Blackberry, they will or 90% will say a dead phone company. Even the CTOs that make decision to buy UEM/Cyber products don't know that BB switched to software. If they did know, they would be buying cylance and blackberry product. Chen is old and doesn't knwo this basic marketing stuff...he's a lab engineer that should be kept in a locked lab for life. They can still change name and should do it fast as possible.
Remove all the old peeople from the comapny and management. Keep only people below 50 and find a new CEO that's under 40 years old. We need young thirsty blood that is willing to work night and weekends and holidays to meet high rev numbers.
Chen keeps guiding like 5% growth...so his employess and sales team have no motivation to do any better. Look at tesla and CRWD...they always target like50% plus and that forces the emloyee to work hard and long because they know they have high expectations to meet. If the mgmt keeps saying don't worry about growht, guess what the employees will do.
Split is good but they need young people and change the name.
