More fun thoughts about patent sale
More reasoning why i think patent sale will be announced by ER.
If I was a CEO and drew a line in sand and again repeated by my CFO in sub-sequent meeting that we will let shareholders know "one way or the other by ER", AND IF THE NEWS WAS BAD I WOULD TRY TO GET IT OUT FEW WEEKS BEFORE ER. Also i wouldn't wait until the ER date to get 100% confirmation from the buyer, minimum 15 days to a month before ER i would try to lock it up for signature.
We know this ER will be positive since chen himself said second half of FY22 is good. So no point in dragging down good ER results with No patent sale(patent sale fell through) news. This is common sense. Chen is an aloof CEO, but i don't think he's that stupid.
By drawing sand in line and CFO re-iterating, Chen cornered himself and didn't leave much wiggle room for himeself. He is aware of this and will do anything and everything to sign the deal by ER. If the deal falls through, the patent portfolio value will take a huge hit. The lined up buyers are aware of Chens' bonus by 2023, they are aware of BB rev decline, and how chen is pressed to show growth before he gets booted. Chen is aware that the lined up buyers (2, 3) are aware of his afformentioned problems, meaning they willl give him just as hard time as buyer #1 since they have upper hand. Chen's vulunarability are out and open.

Russian, your intelligence is remarkable. It's just a shame Chen doesn't possess your capacity to think of every possible scenario, much less conspiracy theories. Sounds like you may want to double down on them $20 or higher Jan '22 calls. Then after you cash out a gillionaire maybe you can help out all them old-timers you feel so much empathy for. ;) :)
