With the security name they have they can make so many small things for consumers.
One example is home smart thermostat for consumers and businesses.. yikes they payed Chem millions.. .. ps don't use the blackberry name just call it something else. Like eco home . Home hub etc yikes.. it's not like they don't do software and have zulllions of patents for qnx.. internet of things for the home is huge .

they have clearly made the decision to provide security software to IOT hardware providers and get a cut of the sales. hardware, as we've seen from the mobile phone industry, is low margin cut throat business. why would we want to get back into production of devices (worrying about product costs, inventory levels, storage, etc) when we can just provide the software and get a cut? simple answer: NO!!!!! most companies including BB have learned the hard way that there is ZERO profits in hardware (unless you have a supply chain as big , reliable as APPLE)...move on...what BB needs to do is to start monitizing these bazillion partnerships that they have signed over the years..SENIOR MANAGEMENT-DOUBLE MINOR, GAME MISCONDUCT etc for failing to execute...dwdc
