If you want the information in real time you need to have this service provided by the plartform you are using. I am currently using the RBC Direct Investing platform. I do not have to go through a broker to buy or sell shares. Regardless of how many shares I buy or sell, the commission is the same.
Most service providesr will give you access to level 2 data if your portfolio with them is important enough. If not, you need to pay for this service. I also previously used the TD platform and it has very similar service to RBC Direct Investing. After using both, I prefer the RBC Direct Investing platform.
