RE:Only one time , thanks

RE:Only one time , thanksI will say something on the subject in refernce to your stats.about thinking quebecers are smarter because they speak another language. So I guess europe then is the smartest of them all in general since many speak multi languages  In fact 64 % speak 2 languages and 21 $ speak 2 or more other languages.

The fact is that necessity is the motivator of learning another language not so called waht you would call smart !!
And since french is truly a very small minorityb and smaller in north America, you should not expect others who don't have the NEED to do so.

There is no official language in the USA, but the need has it for wahtever reason, economics ibcluded, 50 million native amricans speak spanish while there are some 58 million native spanish people living there.  this translates to 18% of native Americans speak spanish  and that;s excluding other languages they may speak.

Your basis for smartness is way off base as learning another languge is based on necessity other than any iedealistic or cultural reasons.
if you had to learn another language to work or survive,,,believe it you will.

  • First, for the ignorant who post before me: According to StatCan (2021 survey) In Canada, only 46% of people who has English for first language can speak another language. For Quebec (whithout french from others provinces), 55% of people who has french for first language can speak at least another language.  Much smarter people in French Quebec than elsewhere.
  • I don't have a good handling of english; sometimes I use Google and sometimes I forgot to revise my writing. But I only have one critic about that (on another board) for 6 to 8 years of posting (as lb1 before 2018). People is respectfull of willingness to writes in their language. Thanks.
  • On the other side, if you don't have a basic english Google is not enough; try it. It's not written anywhere that this board is for english only. If you don't want to read in french; your choice. Past your turn, put them on ignore if you want but don't bother them.
  • Regularly ( every two months), some writes about the Quebecers, exposing theirs thoughs directly from the sixties. They don't learn from 60 years of events in Quebec. Rigid minds. They only accept a folkloric place for french. The Air Canada president (M. Wilson) is the last exemple of that kind of anachronic situation; his own chairman of the board ordered him to learn some french and accept the reality.
  • Let these dinosaurs dry up and die
  • Keep your ground Quebec
Its a BBD board, so that will be my only one about this topic.
