RE:RE:RE:RE: Neither Boeing or Airbus interested? In a way, this all reminds me of the whole Blackberry situation where it came out with its new operating system a few years ago which was deemed leaner and far more secure then the offerings the other big dogs Apple / Google had. The optimistic were talking about this being Blackberry's big come back, how privacy and security concerns were more important now because of the whole Snowden / NSA situation and so on. It's all like Bombardier vs Boeing and Airbus except in this case, replace security with climate concerns and a leaner operating system with fuel efficiency. The end result, Blackberry still got decimated.
Now, truthfully I think many of you overestimate the C series line and how threatening the big boys find it to their market share. When Bombardier does come out of the gate, they'll almost have to give them away since their competitors will be highly aggressive with pricing. C series may have the better features, but the manufacturing costs are still quite high right now so early into production whereas the other guys have likely streamlined their production to the extreme, not to mention they're not faced with crippling debt like we are -- they can afford to keep us out, while we can't afford to be left out.
Realistically, the real perceived value of this company is in rail and one saving grace is that there may be consolidation in this realm. Sadly, management and/or the Canadian government, may not allow it.
