RE:RE:RE:RE:We have too many engineers here. ;pThe nice thing about fuel v batteries is the weight of the fuel decreases while the plane is in the air thereby increasing range. Batteries have the same dead weight during the whole flight. Where we might see some movement in the future is hybrid planes not with jet fuel, but with hydrogren. A hydrogen plane could be powered by electic engines but have significanly less battery weight, and the weight of the hydrogen would drop during the course of its flight. The operating temperature is less than with jet fuel and the waste byproduct of the fuel cell, water, could safely be releaseed into the air.
