RE:Report: Embraer shareholder files complaint against Boeing..This is not to say that this statute could not be changed if the Brazil Government is OK with it but the take over of Embraer is going to be a long and covoluted process if it ever happens.
Thinking that it can be done in 18 months, considering that most people in Brazil oppose the deal and the coming election, I think Boeing is smoking good stuff if they think it will be done that quickly.
Contrary to Canada, because Embraer develops defence jets Brazil can channel money to them for development of technologies without getting in trouble with the WTO. hence, they can find ways to financialy support Embraer without Boeing getting involved.
