RE:New Market of hundreds millions for Bombardier (...)
This is a multi-million dollar upgrade and a decision that must be made for the long term. Currently, many Challenger 604s have only 5,000 hours of flight time or less. The upgrade extends the life of the aircraft by at least ten years. It also significantly increases resale value. According to Bombardier, about 30 604s are now equipped with the Pro Line Fusion suite. Half a dozen are receiving the upgrade at this time, while about 100 potential candidates remain to be converted. So this is a multi-hundred million dollar market that once would have eluded Bombardier. But now that it has significantly upgraded its service center network, the manufacturer can aim for the lion's share.
