RE:Bbd shares, shorts and manipulatorsBbdaerospacecnd, thinking rationally, I think too that at this price the upside potential is realy good. We are again at a crossroad; obviously, things can be better or be worse.
One thing is sure; BBD would not have survived with Bellemare at the helm. At the best it woul have ended up being a mom and pop company assembling a few Kitty Hawks in Joseph Armand Bombardier's old shed.
It almost looks like the old ceo personnal stategy by selling Belfast' wings factory, the C-Series and BT was to be able to supervise as few assets as possible while keeping the fat salary and bonuses ( and let's not forget again the successful insider trading ). It is either this or he was simply not competent enough to succesfully perform a turnaround with Bombardier. Maybe he was a good ceo in fat times but really not wired for difficult times.
His actions seemed to demonstrate that there was nothing else to do than sell a good chunk of the company to save it.
I never perceived an honest attempt to try to improve and save what took time and energy and billions of dollars to build. Selling almost everything was the answer. Selling land, patents, infracstructures, tools...etc...getting rid of the money generating engine of the company if it had been given time. Was that the solution...? I don't think so.
Luckily for us the board seems to think the same and finally got rid of him.
I don't know this Martel; but I know that his main job will be to bring back trust in the company by taking the positive branch at the crossroad. He should be a leader that instill confidence, that workers will follow because he knows his business and that banks and gvts will trust enough to lend him funds until the fat times come again. In his messages he should never cross on the negative side ( insurmountable task, unfavorable odds...etc.. ),we'v had our fill of negative news.
