Seems like some pair trades unwound ydayAt first I thought FED speak was the catalyst to the Telecom selloff but after closer analysis BCE/T came off well before the comments hit the market. In fact, it appears BCE (more so than T) rallied on the market selloff. The only reasoning I could come up with considering the FED comments were rather bearish rates was that pair trades involving short Telecom long growth/commodities began to unwind. Whether this indeed was an unwind and whether it will continue or not only time will tell but the price action was peculiar AND could be considered good news for Telecom.
